Which tablet is right for you?

vaoinsight 3/31/2013
When Apple announced iPad it was a remarkable development, which indeed, changed everything. But before it changed everything, tablet has been around for a long time, of course. Microsoft was heavily pushing tablets at the start of that decade. But tablets was not so popular in personal computing market. The tablet boom has grown incredibly to its current state in just less than 3 years.
The successful launch of the iPad back in 2010 and the impressive sale record inspired some OEM to join the race for market share with iPad. Throughout most of 2011 and 2012 the iPad had no rivals that could match its combination of high-end software and it beautiful design, stable and seamlessly integrated platform.

Android tablets were not moving in the market then, in fact, smartphones and other iPad like tablet cost the same or more than the iPad. Tablet produced for Microsoft Windows were heavy, it took the form of laptops with OS similar to the conventional PC systems.

Start-up companies also launch a great numbers of tablets in different sizes; there were little apps developers available, so it had few apps that could not satisfy users need.

Year 2012 marked the beginning of tablets there are unlimited numbers of tablets floating Chinese market coming in Nigeria market, Therefore, proliferation of tablet begot what turned out to be inferior devices, considering all this factors here the only one answer to the question ‘what tablet should I buy?’ ??

My opinion for good number of tablets running android platform, I know everyone want a good budget tablet that would do what the most of what Samsung, Google Nexus and iPad does, and here is my review of what a good tablet should have before you buy it.

Tablet Year
The 2012 marked beginning of tablets market. In my article Apple Mini vs Google Nexus 7 vs Amazon Kindle Fire on published Nov 23, 2012, comparing the various tablet for consumers digest. Apple had released three tablets in the year, including its first 7in device, that is iOS lover have choice to make. Meanwhile, Google pulled off the neat two-card trick of finally creating a true tablet OS in Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and then subsidizing hardware makers to produce in the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 genuinely high-quality products at a low price.

Microsoft Corp introduced table called Surface RT running beautifully design Windows 8 OS. Furthermore, many OEM now have different tablet running Windows 8 and Android. Both offer high build-quality and easy access to content on the internet.

Personal Use
There are wide range of tablets that lined up to fit your budget, because of research and development in the tablet world tablets keep revolving with the release new tech in specification and quality. The iPad is the leading tablet in Nigeria Market, apparently, demand on iPad 2 shows that iPad is in great demand.  Google Nexus 10 and the Microsoft Surface RT is still in a limited supply to Nigeria market. Also Android devices made by Chinese companies of varying quality plug every price point.

For children, there is a dedicated category of specialised tablets, and laptop makers are beginning to launch hybrid devices that offer the benefits of both tablet and PC. Tablet sales are set to go through the roof, which can only help to push app, movie and music makers into creating more content and software to be enjoyed on these devices. So expect 2013 to be the year tablet computing really matures, and these truly portable computers become capable of being your only entertainment device or workstation. Which leads on to the question, which tablet is right for you?

Mini tablets

Seriously, I love creativity mind at work. Google changed the tablet market by introducing Nexus 7. Do you know what change? It is the size, size change from the 10in form factor originally introduced by iPad. Yet it still function as the 10in iPad with build quality, an easy way to read books, play a game, watch a movies and listen to music, with a good tablet OS at a subsidized low price. Mini tablets fit into a handbag or suit pocket. They are less able than full-sized tablets when it comes to creating or editing documents, and the smaller screens can make for a less satisfying movie-watching experience. But if you are watching on the move, you’ll find that holding a 7in device in one hand is a lot more fun than taking on a wrist-aching 10in tablet.

The Nexus 7 is an utterly brilliant media consumption device, with which you can also email and web browse, as well as edit documents and photos and so on. You probably won’t want to use it for anything more complex than that, but at this price why would you? The Nexus 7 is cheap enough that you could buy it and a cheap laptop, and it will still cost you only about the same as a top-end iPad. You can browse web and check your email, and consume all the media you want. In fact, it seems too good to be true and, to an extent, it is – but only if you are looking for a full-featured tablet.

Should you want a ‘proper’ tablet at this size, the iPad mini is possibly better even than the Google Nexus 7. But it costs more than Naira more, and we’re not sure that it’s worth the extra cash. Buy one, however, and you won’t be disappointed. There are other, cheaper, 7in Android tablets, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note II. There’s nothing wrong with such devices, but in the tablet world you get what you pay for and we think that in the list above there is a device for everyone.

Full-size tablets
The iPad ruling the tablet space since its launch, the iPad just got better with its latest version. The retina display is a show stopper while the enhanced graphics processor renders heavy graphic games with ease. From watching HD videos to reading eBooks on the tablet, everything is so easy on eyes. Voice dictation icon on the keypad and 5MP iSight camera makes it a winner.  If you want the best tablet on the market, get Apple’s fourth-generation iPad. The iTunes market offers more quality apps than any other platform. But you pay a premium for quality, and you will find that you are pretty much locked into Apple’s world when it comes to purchasing music and movies.

You can still buy the iPad 2 at a good price, and it remains a great tablet. So if you want an iPad, but don’t want to pay the full price, it’s worth checking out. The list of alternative 10in tablets starts with the Nexus 10. Google’s new Nexus 10 Android tablet has an impressive screen with a resolution of 2560x1600. The Samsung tablet is also thinner and lighter than Apple’s iPad, runs Jelly Bean 4.2 and, with a good price tag depending on your taste.

Samsung has two other 10in tablets in the Android tablet market, both are solid competitors: the Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. With a highly customized version of Android 4.1, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 distinguishes itself in a crowded market, but at a very expensive price. Honestly, unless price is your primary driver, I would recommend devices such as the

In the 10in tablet market you get what you pay for. It doesn’t make them bad devices, but you should know that you are making a compromise. There is an alternative, however, and an intriguing one. For list of them contact me. It runs android, high build quality device at a great price, awesome screen resolutions. It is less technical users may actively enjoy the ease of use in a closed market.

Operating system

There are different OS available for most tablets; frankly speaking, this is an area where I will dwell on to make user understand when buying one. The different OS available are iOS, Android and Windows 8. Also there are tablets running BlackBerry.
