Personal Computer (PC) Market in Nigeria

vaoinsight 12/10/2012
Personal Computer (PC) importation into Nigeria has reduced in the third quarter of 2012 compared to the same period in the previous calendar year. The most notable decrease came from the UK and US PC exporter.

Potential retailers in Computer Village, Ikeja complained that the fall in importation of PC into the country was as a result of unavailability of high demand PC specification notably UK and America product. Also, there is a lesser need to spend on PCs now as alternative products and services are available that enable users to do all tasks for which PC's are used.

The emerging markets are experiencing the same PC penetration issues and though opportunities are there in the smaller cities and rural areas, and it will take time for the market to develop.
